Friday Sketchers & The Sugar Bowl challenge

I enjoyed using this week's sketch and managed to use up some more old papers in my stash. I also got to use a Toodles & Bink's stamp that I won for the first time. I coloured her with my trusty Derwents (just for a change, lol!) and mounted the image on foam pads. I added little pink Dew Drops to finish.

The Sugar Bowl challenge was to use only one patterned paper in your card. I have stamped Chef Hamish by Sugar Nellie and watercoloured him before cutting out. The paper is by Stampin' Up! and I based the card around the sketch from the Truly Scrumptious challenge I did yesterday. The orange cardstock is Bazzill and the gems are from my stash.

Three cards/Three different challenges

The first card is for a new challenge Truly Scrumptious which you will find the link to on My Fave Blogs. This was a sketch challenge- my favourite kind. I used some papers from my stash which I am trying to use up- have no idea where they are from or who by. The image is another from the Whiff of Joy Spring Kit and is watercoloured with my Derwent pencils. I have used blue Bazzill for matting and layering, a couple of stick on gems and a Prima flower with a brad in the middle.

The second card is for this week's Whiff Of Joy challenge. You had to use a sketch and they are also looking for guest designers. I have used one of the images from the latest Spring Kit from WoJ and had a first attempt at colouring using Distress Inks. The paper is from my stash, the ribbon is Anita's and the sentiment has been mounted on papers punched using SU scalloped circle and circle punches.

Over on Sugar Sugar was a project to make a tag card. This is my attempt. The image is Sugar Nellie, isn't it cute? I have watercoloured the image using my trusty Derwent pencils. The main card is Bazzill and the patterned paper is from DCWV Glitterstack. I have matted the image on orange Bazzill and added a Bazzill blossom with a brad in the centre to the closure tab. Finally I glued some little embellies from my stash.

Meet my new nephew

Here are some pics I got today of my little nephew, born last Thursday, 4 weeks early. He was very poorly when he was born but is coming along well. He is still in the Special Care Baby Unit so I haven't had a cuddle yet. I'm sure it won't be long though :0)

Some little houses

I had to try making some little houses for a swap I am taking part in. The houses had to be ATC size to begin with and then you could add the roof etc. I have no idea if these look like they are supposed too but it's all my brain could come up with lol!
I have blended Distress Inks over the mountboard to colour the base. I cut out roofs and chimneys and coloured these with Distress Inks too. On two of the houses I have stamped a Paper Artsy Image. The panes on the door have been highlighted with Glossy Accents and the swirls have Stickles dotted on them. You will have to click on the image to make this out I think.
The other three "houses" were stamped with another PA image(shown in the close up) and I then cut little doors out and inked them up in the same way as before. Hinges were stamped onto each door before they were attached with some black brads. I then printed off "Home Sweet Home" on a Dymo and inked this with a pale green Promarker before attaching to each of the doors.
Would love to hear what you think, thanks for looking

High Hopes guest DT call

High Hopes are looking for guest designers. Check here if you fancy entering
I have never been on a DT before and would never normally enter such a thing but I love High Hopes and in a moment of madness, decided to throw my hat into the ring. This card is my entry.
I have used papers from DCWV Glitterstack, Bazzill cardstock, Anita's sticky ribbon and flowers from my stash with a brad in the centre. The stamp is High Hopes and I have watercoloured her with my Derwent pencils. I have then added Glossy Accents to the dummy/soother to make it stand out a little.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

Yes, I have been playing in The Sugar Bowl again. I love the Sugar Nellie stamps and there are some gorgeous new ones that I feel I need! The challenge set this week was to use a love or romance them in your project. I have chosen to make a card and wondered which SN stamp I could use as none of mine had "love" in them. I have chosen Pickin' Apples but have covered the apples in the image with punched out hearts. I love this image, she is so sweet. I have coloured her with my Derwent Inktense and then made a small slit in the basket to slot in a couple of hearts. The paper is from DCWV Glitterstack. I placed this over a strip of pink CS which had some hearts punched out of it and some ribbon placed across it. The image was matted on some pink CS and added to the card using foam pads.

Friday Sketchers

This was a great sketch for this week's challenge as it was nice and simple to follow. I downloaded the lovebirds image from Pollycraft, printed it on watercolour paper and coloured it using my Derwent Inktense. The papers I have used are Basic grey Ambrosia and the image is matted on black Bazzill. The gems are from my stash.
