Flight of the butterfly

I have been playing with the fabulous Flight of the Butterfly stamp set from Stampin' Up! and the matching Butterfly punch. The first card also uses the set Pocket Silhouettes. All cardstock is SU as well.
My week off work is almost over and yet I have hardly done any crafting!! Where did the days go? Will have to make the most of the weekend I think.

New Challenge Blog and DT call

Crissy Armstrong is an amazing artist. She previously illustrated stamps for High Hopes and you can see her current range of stamps at Squigglefly. Crissy has started a brand new challenge blog- click on the blinkie in the side bar to find out more. She is looking to form a Design Team and I decided to enter this card. The image is Angelicat by Crissy and is coloured with Promarkers. Papers are Basic Grey Lime Rickey and the flowers have been spritzed with Cosmic Shimmer Mist in Golden Mint and Aqua Lagoon. The fancy head pins are from The Hobby House. Sentiment stamp is by Stampin' Up!

First attempt at brayering

I have watched Barbara Grey loads of times on C&C. She makes it look so easy to create beautiful landscapes that I fancied giving it a go. I have used the Speedball brayer available from Stampin' Up!, a post it note to mask out the sun, Stampin' Up! Real Red ink and Stampin' up! Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. Cardstock is also SU, Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White. The inspiration to use this set and create an easel card came from a fellow demonstrator Jo, whose cards you can find
here.
Thanks Jo and thanks for stopping by my blog and for any comments you may leave.

I also made a few Easter cards using High Hopes bunny images. The papers are MME Bloom and Grow.

Sugar Bowl challenge

The sketch this week is from the very talented Judy and you had to include "stars". I have used one of the Manga stamps, coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Basic Grey Granola and the stars are from stash. Haven't added the sentiment yet as not sure what I will use the card for.

YAY, another scrapbook page

This layout is based on a class from the UKS cybercrop. The class was called Road to Happiness. I have used materials from my own stash instead off the class materials but have tried to copy the majority of the layout. The paper roses were fiddly but I love the effect.

Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop

As well as hopping around blogland you had to make a card using either House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies images. I have turned my stash upside down looking for my Gruffies stamps but alas, cannot find them,(note to self- stash need a clearout)
You also had to use
3 embellies
2 papers/cardstock
1 image
I have coloured the image with my Derwent Inktense pencils, the paper is from the Basic Grey Porcelain pad and the cardstock is Bazzill. My 3 embellishments are the flower, spacer and brad, all from stash.
The winner can win a Sissix Big Shot, or if you already own one a $50 shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp. Am keeping my fingers crossed!!!!

One World, One Heart and Friday Sketchers

Photo
One World One Heart is an event designed to bring bloggers from around the world together, people who may otherwise never meet.It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way. This is an INTERNATIONAL event that has and had participants from the US, Canada, France, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Malaysia, Brazil, The Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, England,Wales, Slovenia and more. It transcends geographical location, socio economics, political affiliation, religious beliefs......it's a coming together like the giant community we are on this planet. If only it took a simple giveaway to create PEACE everywhere, in the mean time here we give from our hearts. We are not solving the worlds problems nor are we curing anything nor are we changing the world. We are merely generating a closer community between humans through blogging. Think of this as taking a giant tour of homes; you get to stop in, look around, meet the people who live there, admire and be inspired and before you go on to the next one you leave your name in hopes to win a door prize at each "home".
So far my giveaways amount to two cards but I am adding mroe as I manage to make things. Here they are

The layout of the cards was done using this week's Friday Sketchers sketch.Papers and buttons are MME Bloom and Grow and the images are coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils.

Sugar Bowl and first LO of 2010

Another great sketch and fabulous DT examples over at The Sugar Bowl. The added extra this challenge was "distressing". I used my new Tim Holtz distressing tool, which is fab and inked the edges with a brown chalk ink. Papers are Basic Grey Porcelain and the image is Sugar Nellie. I haven't added a sentiment yet until I decide who the card is for.

The photo in my last post was just crying out to be scrapped. I have based the LO on a UKS Cybercrop class called Twister and Shout by Rachel Millington. I haven't used the supplies she used and have done some things differently but the basics are all the same. The papers and embellishments are Basic Grey,Archaic I think, from a kit I got in Papercrafts, Elgin. Thanks Rachel, I am really pleased with how this turned out.
Many thanks for visiting and for any comments you may leave

My Lovely boys and Sunday Stamper

Here is a photo taken before the school Christmas disco. Can't believe how quick they are growing up - doesn't Ryan look older than 6 though?
Yes I managed to make a card this week!!! The Sunday Stampers theme this week is "feet" - This image has feet in it so I figured it could be entered, hope Hels agrees lol!
The gorgeous ickle baby and sentiment are by Pink Cat Studio. The image is coloured with Promarkers. The stripy paper was in my stash and the cardstock is Bashful Blue from Stampin' Up!
The layout of the card is this week's Whiff of Joy sketch challenge. I wanted to enter it but forgot to use a WoJ image...duh!
Hoping to find more time to get crafty soon, thanks for visiting

Hurrah, I am back!!!

This is the first card I have made since before Christmas. I have also been unable to bloghop since Xmas Eve when my PC died on me. This is for the Sugar Bowl challenge. The sketch was very easy to follow and my "something new" is the stamp. The is Sugar Nellie and coloured with Promarkers, papers ans MME Bloom & Grow. Apologies for the poor picture

Thought I'd share some pics of the lovely Scottish winter with you - to be minus 20C this weekend. We haven't had any more snow since Tuesday but it's so cold that nothing is thawing. Check out our new wine cooler :0)
Hope you are all staying safe & warm

Sugar Bowl time

This first card followed the sketch from the previous Sugar Bowl challenge but I missed the deadline. The image is one of the Chrismas Manga stamps from Sugar Nellie. Papers are from Kars

Here is my card for the current Sugar Bowl challenge. You had to use your fave colours so the backing paper with the pink and green Bambi's covered that. The image is from Sugar Nellie and is coloured with Promarkers. The papers are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. That's another card made, not many more to do now.
Thanks for visitng and for any comments you may leave

Meant to be Magnolia

I thought I was so clever last night managing the Just Magnolia sketch challenge. Realised too late that I used a Sugar Nellie image instead of a Magnolia one!!! Anyway, I am pleased with how the card turned out. The papers are Kars and the image is coloured with Promarkers. Her hair doesn't look well blended in this pic but looks better in real life, I promise.
The cardstock is Core'dinations and I have sanded it to show a little of the pink. At least that's another Christmas card made :0)

Finally some SU cards done at a workshop. I know I have shown you the tree one again but I uploaded it and can't figure out how to delete it from this part of the post???If you want details of products used, check out my SU blog here

Midnight Madness and Instyle Stamps challenges

Managed to make a card yesterday while nursing my Swine Flu boys(the only perk, trust me!) This is the first time I have taken part in both of these challenges. The Midnight Madness challenge was a great sketch and the Instyle Stamps was to make a snow themed card. The image is Instyle Stamps, coloured with Promarkers and I added Stickles to her bodice and hat. The papers are Shabby Christmas from Funky Fairy. Swirls are punched with my EK Success swirl punch and the flower is from stash, loaded up with Stickles for added frostiness.

Also found time to make my first easel card last night for a friend's 40th birthday. The stamp is Instyle Stamps again, isn't she a cutie? Cardstock is Stampin' Up! Pretty In Pink and the papers are Basic Grey Bittersweet. The image was coloured with Promarkers
