I was asked by a friend to make a card for a Naming Ceremony she was invited too. It gave me the perfect excuse to use the most adorable baby image I've ever seen from Sugar Nellie. He is called Bambino.
I also got to use my new Magnolia Vintage Tag die and the papers are from DCWV.
Image is coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers.

My next Journal page
The theme from The Greeting Farm for this week was "Cut & Patste". You had to cut a face from a magazinge/newspaper and then draw the body on yourself. Oh no thought i, cannot draw to save self!!! Also could not see a decent face to use. Then I had an idea. Instead of some random person's face, why not have the face of a friend? My friend Hels was the featured artist in Craft Stamper this month and there was a wee piccie of her on the top of the page. I've known Hels for quite a few years now and she is such a talented lady. She is a lover of all things Tim Holtz so I decided to use some of the techniques I've seen her use on my background. I used various Distress Inks, blended them all together and then splashed the page with water. The stamps are Tim Holtz and the papers I used for her hat and dress are also tim, Retro Grunge stash.
I hope she likes my little homage to her, please go visit her blog and see her amazing creations.

I would like to thank the very talented Kellie Winnell for giving me the following award
Here are 12 questions that I need to answer:
Q1) Name your favorite color? I love greens, browns and pinks but I would say I have a real weakness for anything teal
Q2) Name your favorite song? Current favourites any track on Adele's 21 album. My all time favourite is Patsy Cline - Crazy (my karaoke track, lol)
Q3) Name your favorite dessert? Sticky Toffee pudding with custard or cream
Q4) What annoys you at the moment? That my house is dirty/messy & I have a mountain of ironing to tackle
Q5) Your favorite pet? My cat
Q6) Black or White? BLACK
Q7) Your biggest fear? Cancer, I have always had this fear that I’ll get it or someone I love will. I don’t fear death itself as when it’s your time, it’s your time. But the thought of having a strung out and painful one is my biggest fear.( this is Kellie's answer but is also true for me, I HATE cancer and know people who have suffered, it is a horrible disease)
Q8) Best Feature? do I have one?? I suppose I am blessed with good skin
Q9) Everyday attitude? hhmmmm………..really depends on how much sleep I’ve had. (again Kellie's answer but applies to me too)
Q10) What is perfection? I don't think there is such a thing
Q11) Guilty Pleasure? crafting supplies, shopping, bargains, something sweet. (again, Kellie's answer rings true for me too plus wine and chocolate)
Q12) When you’re upset you? Sometimes I cry, other times I yell and sometimes I just bottle it all up!
Now I have to pass this on to 10 other blogging buddies so here goes
Elaine
Annika
Kim
Tracey
Angela
Mina
Cass

I Believe in Angels
Simon Says Stamp challenge this week is to be inspired by a song title. Mine in "I Believe in Angels" by Abba. This gorgeous image is from Sweet Pea Stamps. I have coloured her with Promarkers, the papers are Basic Grey and the swirls are Grungeboard which I coloured with a PM as well. Sentiment is Stampin' Up!
Here's a closer look
I had problems with her hair- a lesson learned about switching the ultra fine nibs between colour families lol!I have since ordered some more.I also added some white gel pen dots around the image, something I saw my blogging buddy Coops doing. It's not as effective as when she does it, practice required!
I am also entering this card into the following challenges
Flutterby Wednesday - use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card
Bunny-Zoe monthly challenge - sketch
thanks for visiting, hope you have a lovely weekend

Simon Says Stamp-tember challenge
For the second year in a row Simon Says and Simon Says Stamp and Show are joining forces to bring us a Treasure Hunt and Superhop. I completed the hop yesterday, amazing works of art to be seen, it is well worth a visit. Here is the card I am entering
I made this card following the Classroom with Barbara Gray on Create and Craft. I am quite pleased with how it turned out but can see lots of mistakes too- more practice needed. I love Clarity Stamps and Barbara is so talented. You have to send in the cards and they will then be sold to raise money for Cancer Research. I would love to know what you think, so would appreciate your comments
thanks for visiting.

No Lines!!!!!!!
There's a current craze for colouring images without the harsh black lines by stamping the image in paler colours. Zoe over at Make It Crafty was the first person I saw doing this technique and it looked amazing. She then very kindly offered a freebie digi image (via her Facebook Group) which she has already opaqued, so we could try it out. Here is my attempt
What do you think?
Now I look at the photo I can see I need to blend the pinks more on the flowers, must have been distracted lol! Here is a closer look
The papers are Basic Grey Urban Prairie, seniment is Whimsy Stamps. The sentiment is cut out using teh Whimsy Ticket Die
I am entering this into the following challenges
Basic Grey - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - sketch
Papertake Weekly - use die cut
Digital Tuesday - cute and girly
think I prefer colouring with the more defined lines, I need lots more practice. Off to do some blending with those flowers
I would love to hear your comments, have a good weekend

My journey into Art Journalling
The Greeting Farm are doing a 24 week challenge to create an art Journal. Each week you are given the theme. Having never attempted this craft I decided to give it a go. We are on week 5 now and here are my pages
I am making up my pages separetely and then binding them all together. This week you had to use paper piecing, texture and layers. Those gorgeous papers are K & Co, I crumpled, distress and inked them. The cardbaord was from a box that delivered some goodies yesterday. I've admired other crafter's use of this material but had never used it before myslef. I exposed the corrugated core, painted it with Claudine Helmuth Traditional Tan paint and then inked it with Brushed Corduroy DI. The raffia ribbon is from my stash.
The image is Friday Creeper form The Greeting Farm and I coloured her with Promarkers.
You can see here that her trousers and waistcoat have been paper pieced. I am entering this into the following challenges
Make it Monday - always anything goes
Stamps R Us - anything goes
Woodware USA - try a new technique
Hope you like my attempt, perhaps I'll share the other pages another time

Still in love........
Yes I am using the wonderful Strike a Pose image again but have used much paler colours. Simply Sassy blog has a challenge at the moment to colour an image in using the colours below
The winners will get their image shown in the blog header. Here is my interpretation
And this is the card that I made with her
The papers are Memory Box, the ribbon was from stash and I put stickles down the middle which doesn't really show up properly in the photo. The sketch I used is the current Sugar Bowl challenge.
Thanks for visiting, I would love to hear what you think x

I think I am in Love...
with this image!!! She is "Strike a Pose" and is one of the latest realeases from the Simply Sassy by Sugar Nellie. This card is for my little sis who turns 37 today - she does like to pose so thought it was very apt lol!
Not the best picture, it's a bit squint, might have to sort it later. The image is coloured with Promarkers, took me ages to do her hair but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The papers are BG Urban Prairie, sentiment is SU! and the swirls were made with a Paper Shapers punch. The Sugar Nellie challenge on Facebook this week was to use a punch so I can enter the card into it. I am also entering the following
Deconstructed Sketch - sketch 13
Make it Monday - anything goes

Missing You!
That's the name of this gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamp. She is one of the Simply Sassy images.
I have coloured everything but the hair with Copics. Yes, this is a first, I borrowed them while visiting the House of Sugar last week. I did like them, particularly the skintones but hubby would go mad if I said I was building up another collection of pens lol! The hair was done with my Promarkers when I got home. Papers are Tim Holtz, except for the circle which is SU! Pearls are Basic Grey.
