Babies, babies everywhere

My Time to Craft challenge this week was "Babies".The Scrummy Stash Cafe one was "Hey Baby" I had to make a card for a work colleague who had a little boy last week. I used some stamps I got the other month and hadn't used yet. The image is stamped in Ultramarine Staz-on and I then coloured the cardstock with Distress Ink in Broken China. I matted these squares onto navy Bazzill and the greeting and little cubes are all rub-ons.I am putting this card forward for both challenges :0)

I've been scrapping!

Well, I have made two scrapbook pages! One of them was for the Scrapbook Challenge on Craft Swap Forum. It was 1,2,3. You had to use 1 title, 2 photos and 3 embellishments the same. I used Seaside as the title, some photos from a caravan break with my boys and decided to make a double layout. The kit I used was a Brenda Pinnick one I got last summer from QVC. Struggled with finding three embellishments the same, so opted for three label stickers the same shape and added little word stickers to each of them. Hope this is okay Lesley :0)

Sunday Stampers/Arty Girlz challenges

This card has been made to incorporate both the Sunday Stampers "Faces" challenge and the Arty Girls "Handmade Background" challenge. I have used glossy card and alcohol inks to create the background paper. The stamp is from Paper Bag Studios and I have stamped this in black archival ink. I took a cream A5 blank and matted some Rustic Gems paper onto it. The image was then matted onto some rose coloured Bazzill cardstock which was then attached to the card using foam pads. I cut another mat of Bazzill and mounted this on foam pads below the image. I then added a peel-off greeting.I love messing about with alcohol inks and these PBS stamps are just fab! Need to make some more cards in this style I think.

Tutti Frutti/Funkykits Sketch Challenge

The My Time To Craft challenge this week is Tutti Frutti. I don't own any fruit related stamps so I used Tutti Frutti colours instead. I got a new Penelope Stamp and some Heidi Grace papers from Funkykits last week. You can see the three sketch challenges from Funkykits on the Sugar Nellie blog.Don't know how to do the link but I think it is in my fave blogs below.
I stamped the image in black staz-on and coloured it with my pencils and Zest-it blending solution. I matted the image on orange Bazzill cardstock. The square card blank was covered with one of the Heidi Grace papers. I then cut a strip of one of the other papers and laid it across the card. Three co-ordinating ribbons were cut to different lengths and attached them to the strip of paper. The image was then laid over these with foam pads. Finally some Primas were glued at the corners according to the sketch. I love this stamp and the papers are so lovely and bright.

My first canvas

I bought some blank canvases after seeing some of my talented friends making some fab projects with them. I decided to use my Paper Artsy stamps from the new Squiggly Ink range. I covered the entire canvas with Distress Ink in Shabby Shutters and then blended around the edges with Pine Needles. I then stamped the main image in Pine needles in the centre of the canvas. The writing could be a bit clearer but I couldn't go over it again, I would have made a mess. I then stamped the swirl random around the canvas followed by a couple of the hearts from the same plate. Next I took some Cosmic Shimmer Sparkle Paint in Lime Twist and painted the dots of each swirl, the arrow of the heart and sections of the door with it. I used Gold Krylon on sections of the other heart and parts of the door then dabbed it around the edges of the canvas. Finally I took a bottle top, drew around it then stamped the heart. I cute this out and placed it inside the bottle top, which I filled with Glossy Accents. I attached the bottle top, once dry, with silicone glue then spritzed the whole canvas lightly with Perfect Pearls mixed with water.
I will definitely be trying this again.

Arty Girlz challenge

I got two sheets of stamps from Paper Bag Studios recently and have been itching to make something with them. The challenge from Arty Girlz this week was to use ribbons, which I have just a few of :0). I have stamped one of the images from the Home sheet onto an alcohol inked glossy paper that I made the other week. I punched two holes in the right hand side of the image and threaded through some green ribbon. I love this stamps, it is one of my faves.I have taken a close up of it to let you see it in more detail. I have matted the image on foam pads and placed it on Basic Grey Lilykate paper and cut another piece of this for the greeting, which is a peel-off that I have coloured black. Both pieces of the Lilykate paper were then attached to the A5 card blank.Hope you like it.

My Paper World sketch #8 & Papertake Weekly

I made this card following the latest sketch from Nicola at My Paper World. Papertake Weekly challenge this week is glitter. The image is from Sugar Nellie and was stamped in black Staz-on and coloured in with watercolour pencils. I then used Stickles in Crystal to highlight her necklace. You will need to clikc on the image to be able to see the glitter I think. The background paper is from The English paper Company. I cut a mat of lilac Bazzill cardstock and laid this across the paper, following the sketch. I took a light pink inkpad round the edges of the image and mounted it to the card with foam pads. Finally I added two primas with some purple gems in the centre and three gems down the side of the Bazzill cardstock mat. This is another new stamp and I love it.

DCM challenge - Butterflies

Daring Card Maker's challenge this week was to use butterflies on your project. I love butterflies so just had to join in this one. I have used paper from K & Co to cover an A6 blank. I then stamped my other new Tilda image, (yes, I only have two) on some white cardstock, cut her out and coloured her in with watercolour pencils in co-ordinating colours. The image was attached to the card with foam pads. I really love this image too- feel the need to purchase more Tildas I think :0)

Sunday Stampers- Family

Finally managed to get this challenge done yesterday although I am not sure if I like the result. I have used glossy paper which I inked up with alcohol inks a few weeks ago but hadn't got round to using. I stamped the image from paper Artsy in black archival ink. The image reminds me of my two boys.
I matted this image onto some Rustic Gems paper which I had ripped around the edges. The torn edges were then coloured lightly with a Distress Ink pad in Old Paper. I cut out a piece of brown Bazzill cardstock slightly smaller than my A6 card blank. This was matted onto the card and the Rustic Gems paper with image mounted on top.

Funky Fairy Challenge/My First Tilda

The Funky Fairy challenge this week is "Stars & Stripes". I received my first Tilda stamps today and was itching to use them. I took some striped paper from a pad by The English Paper Company and covered and A6 card blank. Then I stamped Baby Tingla and coloured her in with watercolour pencils. I attached her to the card using foam pads and then glued three little star embellishments underneath. Isn't she cute?

Springtime ATC challenge

Springtime is the theme for this weeks weekly ATC challenge on Craft Swap forum. I have used paper from DCWV Pocketful of Posies pad to cover and ATC blank. Then I took two charms, one a flower and one a butterfly and attached them with gold brads. Finally I took a green fabric flower(Bazzill Blooms I think) and glued this to the ATC with a gem in the centre. All of these colours remind me of Spring. Thanks for the challenge Rachel

Quick Birthday Card.

My Step-dad called me last night and asked me to drop a card of today for him to send to his sister. I printed some images and papers off from my Joanna Sheen Victorian Angels disc. I ripped one of the papers and layered it on top of the other which I then placed on an A5 blank. I had printed the topper image on glossy photo paper so I trimmed this to size and stuck it to the card using foam pads. I then took a small piece of navy Bazzill cardstock and mounted it on foam pads with a Happy Birthday Sister greeting on it. Hope she likes it.

Sugar Nellie ATCs

I have a few birthdays coming up so decided to make a series of ATCs using a Nellie with Cake stamp and some papers from DCWV Pocketful of Posies pad.
The stamped images have been watercoloured and cut out before being stuck onto the ATC. They are all now in their envelopes ready to be posted. :0)

Vintage tags

I am involved in a tag swap this month and the theme is vintage. I had a great time yesterday making these and got very inky and messy in the process. I have used various Distress Inks to colour the tags and have blended them with a wet baby wipe. The images have all been stamped using the Distress Inks, either directly onto the tag or onto pieces of mountboard. The pieces of mountboard were first coloured with the ink pads and then glued to the tags. I attached some co-ordinating fibres to each tags and them spritzed them with a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water to give them a glorious shimmer. If you click on the images you may see the sparkle. I am quite pleased with the final results. The stamps were See D's apart from the large pocket watch which is from The Artistic Stamper.

My page for the envelope book

Craft Swap Forum celebrates it's second birthday this month. To mark the occasion some of the members are making pages for envelope books which will be auctioned to raise money for The Lymphoma Association. My team were given the theme of Nature. I have used a set of Tim Holtz stamps and Distress Inks. Firstly I covered the entire envelope with Old Paper then stamped the flowers in both Walnut Stain and Aged Mahogany. I took a small piece of mountboard, coloured it with Old Paper and stamped the bird in Aged Mahogany. I then embossed the image with clear embossing powder and glued the mountboard to the front of the envelope. For the insert I covered the card with Aged Mahogany, which I blended with a damp baby wipe. I stamped more flowers randomly and then stamped the sentiment in Walnut Stain. The other team members will send their pages to me and I will make it into a book. I'll make sure to take piccies so you can see the finished article.

Alter It

The challenge this week from Scrummy Stash Cafe was to take something and alter it. Well, I had a project to make for a friend so decided to use this for the challenge too. I forgot to take a photo before I inked up the tin but it was just plain silver. I used my inking tool and alcohol inks in Cranberry, Lettuce and Eggplant. I covered the entire tin, inside and out then left it to dry. I then decorated the lid with two dragonfly brads and some prima flowers. I glued a gem in the centre of the flowers and then took a chipboard letter, inked around the edges with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and glued this in place. Ta-da!!!!

One for the Boys/Men

That was the challenge from Funky Fairy this week. I decided to get out my Papernation decoupage. I have used matching backing paper to cover the A5 blank and then matted the decoupaged images onto some silver pearlescent cardstock. These were then matted onto some navy Bazzill cardstock before being placed on the card. His little ID card I cut out and then glued into place by his side.

Sunday Stampers week 11

This week's challenge was Travel/Transport/Journey. I have used some Clear Art Stamps for this card. First I sponged the card blank with Distress Ink in Old Paper and then stamped a couple of images onto it in black staz-on. I then took two pieces of white card and stamped one with an image of the Eiffel Tower and one with the word Paris, somewhere I have never been but would love to visit. I took a Distress Ink pad in Walnut Stain and dabbed it on the cardstock, then wiped it over with a wet baby wipe. I then inked around the edges of both pieces with the Walnut Stain ink and mounted them on the card using foam pads.

Shrink to Fit

That was the challenge from Daring Card Maker's this week. You were only allowed to use and embellishment of 5cm x 5cm and leave the rest of the card white, apart from the greeting. I have used a piece of stamp board which I inked up with Distress inks in Broken China and Dusty Concord. I have then stamped a little postman by Clear Art Stamps in Ultramarine staz-on. I then edged the stamp board with a silver Krylon pen and attached it to the card blank with silicone glue. I inked up a small piece of white card with Broken China Distress Ink and then stamped Bonjour in the staz-on. I attached the greeting with foam pads to complete the card.

My Time To Craft Challenge

This week's challenge was Furry Friends. I absolutely love House Mouse stamps but only own 4 of them. I never make enough use of them so thought this the perfect opportunity. I stamped the image with black staz-on and coloured it in with watercolour pencils. I made a 15cm square card and covered this with a checked paper from The English Paper Company. I then matted the image onto some navy Bazzill cardstock and attached this to the cards using foam pads. I have then added a strip of Bazzill under the image for the peel-off greeting.

Sweet Sugar/Arty Girlz challenges

The Sweet Sugar challenge this week was to make two men's cards. As I only have one male Sugar Nellie stamp I had to use Hamish on both. I have stamped him in black-staz-on and coloured both images with watercolour pencils. One card I mounted on a mat of dark blue pearlescent card a matted this on to a pale blue/lilac paper which I had attached to an A6 blank. Another small pearlescent blue mat was then added for the peel-off greeting. The second card I decided to make to fit in with the Arty Girlz challenge which is "Triangles" this week. I cut the front of the A6 blank diagonally so that the front is now a triangle. I covered the front of the card with some paper from Dovecraft and matted Hamish on some grey pearlescent cardstock and placed this on the front of the card. I then cut another triangle from the patterned paper and attached this to the top right of the inside of the card.

Making Waves

That is the Papertake Weekly challenge this week. I decided to try out my new stamp from Cuddly Buddly. It is stamped in black Staz-on and I have coloured the image with coloured pencils and Zest-it blending solution. Spent ages colouring it in, watch closely by my youngest son. It was worth it as I am happy with the results. I then made an A5 card blank and trimmed the edges with my Fiskars decorative edge scissors, aptly named "Wave". I took some gold pearlescent card and made a mat for the stamped image which I mounted on foam pads. Then I cut a smaller mat for the peel-off greeting , which I coloured with blue peel-off pen. I mounted this on foam pads too. Finally I took a blue ink pad round the wave edges to accent them a bit more.

Sunday Stampers

The challenge was set by Lesley this week as it was her birthday recently and is "Going for Green". I have made a card using papers from Laura Ashley which I have ripped and torn then layered one on top of the other on a card blank. I stamped a Gibson Lady from Artistic Stamper in Nick Bantock Chartreuse Leaf ink and embossed her with clear embossing powder. I then inked around the edges with a pale pink ink pad and mounted it on the card using 3D foam pads. I love green and I love these Gibson ladies, I am sooooo glad I bought them :0)

Another tall & skinny thing!

I decided that this stamped image was perfect for the Funky Fairy "Long Tall Sally" this week. I got the stamped image from a friend on Craft Swap Forum ages ago and found it when having a clear out at the weekend. I have mounted it on some paper from Creative Imaginations and placed this on a tall, skinny card blank. I just love the sentiment on the stamp. I finished off with a Good Luck peel-off on some pink Bazzill cardstock which I matted onto the same paper as used behind the main image.

Long Tall Sally

That is the Funky Fairy challenge this week set by DT member Jozza. You have to make something tall and skinny so I opted for a bookmark. I covered the bookmark with papers from Funky Fairy. The stamped image is from Paper Artsy. I stamped it with clear embossing ink and then used Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder in Mallow Flame Aurora. I then stamped "sweet dreams" randomly on both sides of the bookmark. This stamp is from the same PA set as the other image. Next I used my lovely Cropadile to set three eyelets in the bottom of the bookmark and threaded co-ordinating fibres through these. Ta-da!!!!
