In My Pocket.....Buttons
This is a brand new challenge by Hels, who also does the Sunday Stamper challenge. You will find her blog link under my fave blogs. The idea is to make a pocket and hide the theme of the week under the flap. This week's hidden something is buttons. I have used papers and a word embellishment from K & Co Brenda Walton range. The flap is tucked under two decorative brads and a Prima with a gem in the centre placed on the closed flap. Under the flap is of course, my hiding buttons :0)
Thanks for the new challenge Hels, enjoyed doing this

BIA accordian book
My blogging sister Vicki put the instructions for this book on her blog so I decided to have a go. I used inks and stamping instead of coloured cardstock and tags. Boy did I get messy hands. The ink pads used were Nick Bantock in Turquoise and Distress Ink in Shabby Shutters. Stamped images are all PaperArtsy and the sentiments are Penny Black, Paper Artsy and unknown.
The cardstock on the mountboard covers is from DCWV and I attached some HOTP ribbon with brads to the inside to assist with opening it out. The flowers on the front cover are Prima with a gem in the centre. Hope the photos show it up properly because I am really pleased with it. Can be sure I am going to make more. A friend has asked for one with a wedding theme where I leave spaces for photos.

Sunday Stampers - Friends
I get by with a little help from mine all the time!
The Sunday Stampers theme this week is "friends". I didn't have much time and couldn't find a suitable stamp so I cheated a bit. The only piece of stamping on this card is the stitching along the seam of the two papers. Hope Hels will let me off?
The papers and quotes are by Hot Off The Press and the stamp is from the same kit.

BIA notebook
I saw this paper in Craft Central and HAD to buy it. I have covered both the inside and outside of the mountboard covers with it and then instead of using o-wires I have threaded black cord through the holes. The holes were of course punched with my trusty Bind-It-All. The pages are made with cardstock, cut slightly smaller than 4" x4". I threaded some little wooden heart beads onto the ends of the black cord to finish the book off. I have made this for a friend and I hope she likes it when it arrives.

Mellow Yellow
That is the ATC weekly challenge on Craft Swap Forum this week. I have stamped the image, from Lost Coast Designs in Mustard Staz-on and trimmed around it so it would fit on an ATC. I coloured the ATC with Distress Ink in Mustard Seed and blended it with a wet baby wipe. I then used the same ink pad to watercolour her eyes and touched in her lips with Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick. The image was then adhered to the ATC and a small yellow Prima added in the bottom corner. Suitably yellow I hope

May & June scrapbooking challenges
Lesley over on Craft Swap Forum sets a Scrapbooking challenge each month. I always try to join in as I am new to scrapping and need ideas. Last night I sat and did both.
May challenge was to use plain paper for main background, one photo, handwriting and some stamping. I used Ryan's nursery photo from last year. The brackets are stamped and all papers and embellies are from a Brenda Pinnick kit.
June challenge was to use white and two other colours (mine are purple & green), something wiggly (the ribbon), something metal, (the brads) and two or more photos. Lesley also challenged us to make it a double layout. Again, all papers and embellies are from the Brenda Pinnick kit apart from the wiggly ribbon which was from my ribbon stash.
Hope I have fulfilled all your requirements Lesley. Would love to hear your comments on these and any tips for improvements are very welcome too.
Thanks for looking

My Time To Craft challenge/Shabby Tags
I had to make some tags for a swap i am in and the rule was they had to be shabby and as distressed as possible. The other instruction was to get as messy and inky as possible making them. I cut the white cardstock to the required size and then crumpled them up. I straightened them out again and applied Distress Ink in Fired Brick to both sides, blended lightly with a sponge to spread the colour over the entire tag. I then took another Distress ink pad in Walnut Stain and stroked this lightly over both sides as before. I spritzed water all over the tags to let the colours bleed slightly and left them to dry. While still slightly damp I tore pieces out and made other tears in the edges to add to the aged look. Once the tags were dry I stamped a Tim Holtz Image in Black Soot randomly on both sides. Then for the front I coloured some mountboard with Distress Inks in Old Paper, Fired Brick and Vintage Photo, blended with a wet baby wipe. I then stamped the bird image, also Tim Holtz in Black Soot. While all the inks were still wet I covered the mountboard with clear embossing powder. I heated it randomly so that the embossing is patchy. I then edged the mountboard with Vintage Photo ink and stuck it to the front of the tag. Finally I took some white string and dabbed it all over with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I ran a baby wipe over it, doubled it up and threaded it through the tag. Hope these are shabby enough :0) I am entering the tag in the MTTC challenge which was "birds" last week. I know I am late but I am hoping to catch up soon.
And yes, I got very inky and messy making these LOL!

Sunday Stampers- Ebony & Ivory
This week's challenge was to use only black & white in your project. I wanted to try out one of my new Tilda stamps so thought I'd see what it look liked in monochrome and was pleasantly surprised. I cut the image out once coloured and matted it onto some white card. I took some paper from a Papermania 6x6 pad I have and stuck it to an A6 blank, leaving a small border all the way round. The image was then attached to the card using foam pads. Finally I placed white flat backed pearls at each corner of the paper. I haven't added a greeting as I am not sure who I will give this to.
Thanks for looking

Magnolia Challenge
The challenge this weeks was "swirls".
I used one of the stamped images I won recently and coloured in with pencils and Zest-it blending solution. The image was matted onto some green Bazzill cardstock. I took some Rustic Gems paper and cut a panel which was adhered to an A5 blank. The Tilda image was matted onto this and a greeting attached with foam pads below it.
For the swirls I have used a clear stamps by Hot Of The Press and Staz-on ink in Olive Green.

Seaside Memories/Sprinkle some Sparkle
Last week's challenge on Craft Swap Forum was to have some sparkle on your ATC. I used one of my new Tilda stamps, watercoloured her and then made her underskirts all sparkly using Stickles in Crystal. Love this image and I want a party dress like that!
I was kindly asked to set the challenge for this weeks ATC challenge on Craft Swap. I decided on Seaside Memories as I was dying to use this stamp
again. I have stamped it in black staz-on onto some cream cardstock. The image has then been coloured and shaded with pencils which have then been blended with Zest-it blending solution. I loved going to the beach when I was wee and know my boys adore it now. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by :0)

My First Skinny
I finally gave in and decided to have a go at making a Skinny. Lesley is to blame for introducing the idea into my head and she has some fab ones on her blog. The link is to be found down the left hand side. A Skinny needs to be 5"x3". Bit like an ATC but more room to decorate. I have used Adirondack ink pads in Cranberry and Butterscotch to colour the piece of card, blended with a wet baby wipe. I then stamped in black staz-on onto white shrink plastic and stuck it in the oven to shrink. I can never manage it with the heat gun, it sticks to itself every time!
The main image is from Lost Coast Designs and the others are from Cherry Pie Art. I then fixed all the pieces of shrink plastic onto the Skinny using sticky-dots. I wanted to use silicone glue but has run out. Finally a couple of little Primas and it was done. I am sending it to a friend and I hope she likes it. Thank you Lesley for another crafty addiction....I think?

Sunday Stamper - Lost in France
Hels has set us the challenge of including something French in our project this week. I have some lovely clear stamps by Clear Art Stamps which have a French theme. I decide to have a go at altering a tag book which I bought last November at the NEC and have not gotten round to using. I am only showing you the front page cos that is all that is really French! The little postmark says Paris, in case you cannot make it out
The book was coloured with Distress Ink in Fired Brick and the images stamped in black archival ink. I then took a crackle background stamp and stamped in fired brick randomly.
My fingers are in a lovely red mess now :0)

Sweet Sugar Challenge
The challenge this week was also not to make a card. I made another fat page and took the opportunity to use one of my new Sugar Nellie stamps form the Sweet Ebony range, designed by Elisabeth Bell. They are all so beautiful.
The image is stamped in black Staz-on, straight onto the fat page and coloured with pencils and Zest-it blending solution. I then inked around the page with Distress Ink in Peeled Paint and blended it with a wet baby wipe.I think this is so sweet, hope the recipient likes it :0)
Magnolia Challenge
This week's challenge was "none card week". You had to make something using Tilda so long as it was not a card.
I have made a fat page for a list I am on. Baby Tingla is stamped in Black Staz-on and coloured with pencils and Zest-it blending solution. The backing paper is by HOTP and I have inked around the image and fat page with Distress ink in tattered Rose.

Wedding card
A girl in work asked me to make a card for a couple who get married next month. She wanted both their names on the card. I have used papers, stickers and an embellishment from the Bliss range by Creative Imaginations ( I think?). The A5 blank was covered with the paper, leaving a small border round the edges.I have torn a smaller piece of the same paper, used stickers to spell out the names and then torn around the edges, before sticking it to a mat of Bazzill cardstock. I added an epoxy heart and then attached two small flat-backed pearls. I am not sure if I like this card but I decided to blog it anyway. The girl said she liked it but I am not sure if she was just saying that? I hope not and would really like to know your honest opinions. Promise not to delete any not so nice comments :0)
thanks for visiting

Sunday Stampers challenge- week 18
This weeks challenge is "dogs". Now I knew that I didn't have a dog stamp but I was looking closely at some delicious new Sugar Nellie stamps I bought and lo and behold, there is a wee doggie in one of them. Hope that counts Hels?
Anyway, I stamped the image (Summer Ice Cream, by Elisabeth Bell), in black Staz-on and coloured it in with my pencils, blending with Zest-it blending solution. The paper on the card is DCWV Pocketful of Posies. I cute a mat from it and a slightly smaller mat from co-ordinating Bazzill CS and layered them all up on the card blank. Hope you like it :0)

Papernation birthday card
I decided to make use of some stamped images I received in a recent swap. I think this is from Bee and is one of the new Papernation stamps. I have stamped the image in black Staz-on and then coloured her with Sakura Glitter pens. The paper on the card blank is from my stash and I cannot remember who it is by. I matted the image on some co-ordinating Bazzill cardstock and added a sentiment on the same CS below the image. Finished off by adding some Prima flowers with a flower brad in the centre. Thanks for the image Bee, she is very cute.
