No Lines!!!!!!!

There's a current craze for colouring images without the harsh black lines by stamping the image in paler colours. Zoe over at Make It Crafty was the first person I saw doing this technique and it looked amazing. She then very kindly offered a freebie digi image (via her Facebook Group) which she has already opaqued, so we could try it out. Here is my attempt

What do you think?
Now I look at the photo I can see I need to blend the pinks more on the flowers, must have been distracted lol!  Here is a closer look

The papers are Basic Grey Urban Prairie, seniment is Whimsy Stamps. The sentiment is cut out using teh Whimsy Ticket Die
I am entering this into the following challenges
Basic Grey - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp - sketch
Papertake Weekly - use die cut
Digital Tuesday - cute and girly

think I prefer colouring with the more defined lines, I need lots more practice. Off to do some blending with those flowers
I would love to hear your comments, have a good weekend

My journey into Art Journalling

The Greeting Farm are doing a 24 week challenge to create an art Journal. Each week you are given the theme. Having never attempted this craft I decided to give it a go. We are on week 5 now and here are my pages
I am making up my pages separetely and then binding them all together. This week you had to use paper piecing, texture and layers. Those gorgeous papers are K & Co, I crumpled, distress and inked them. The cardbaord was from a box that delivered some goodies yesterday. I've admired other crafter's use of this material but had never used it before myslef.  I exposed the corrugated core, painted it with Claudine Helmuth Traditional Tan paint and then inked it with Brushed Corduroy DI. The raffia ribbon is from my stash.
The image is Friday Creeper form The Greeting Farm and I coloured her with Promarkers.

You can see here that her trousers and waistcoat have been paper pieced. I am entering this into the following challenges
Make it Monday - always anything goes
Stamps R Us - anything goes
Woodware USA - try a new technique

Hope you like my attempt, perhaps I'll share the other pages another time

Still in love........

Yes I am using the wonderful Strike a Pose image again but have used much paler colours. Simply Sassy blog has a challenge at the moment to colour an image in using the colours below
The winners will get their image shown in the blog header. Here is my interpretation

And this is the card that I made with her

The papers are Memory Box, the ribbon was from stash and I put stickles down the middle which doesn't really show up properly in the photo. The sketch I used is the current Sugar Bowl challenge.
Thanks for visiting, I would love to hear what you think x

I think I am in Love...

with this image!!! She is "Strike a Pose" and is one of the latest realeases from the Simply Sassy by Sugar Nellie. This card is for my little sis who turns 37 today - she does like to pose so thought it was very apt lol!
Not the best picture, it's a bit squint, might have to sort it later. The image is coloured with Promarkers, took me ages to do her hair but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The papers are BG Urban Prairie, sentiment is SU! and the swirls were made with a Paper Shapers punch. The Sugar Nellie challenge on Facebook this week was to use a punch so I can enter the card into it. I am also entering the following

Deconstructed Sketch - sketch 13
Make it Monday - anything goes
Crafts and Me - anything goes
Basic Grey challenges- summery papers

Here is a closer look at the image

Missing You!

That's the name of this gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamp. She is one of the Simply Sassy images.
I have coloured everything but the hair with Copics. Yes, this is a first, I borrowed them while visiting the House of Sugar last week. I did like them, particularly the skintones but hubby would go mad if I said I was building up another collection of pens lol! The hair was done with my Promarkers when I got home. Papers are Tim Holtz, except for the circle which is SU! Pearls are Basic Grey.
I made this card for the current Sugar Bowl challenge.
I am also entering into the following
Crafts & Me - anything goes
For Fun Challenges- anything goes
