Some little houses

I had to try making some little houses for a swap I am taking part in. The houses had to be ATC size to begin with and then you could add the roof etc. I have no idea if these look like they are supposed too but it's all my brain could come up with lol!
I have blended Distress Inks over the mountboard to colour the base. I cut out roofs and chimneys and coloured these with Distress Inks too. On two of the houses I have stamped a Paper Artsy Image. The panes on the door have been highlighted with Glossy Accents and the swirls have Stickles dotted on them. You will have to click on the image to make this out I think.
The other three "houses" were stamped with another PA image(shown in the close up) and I then cut little doors out and inked them up in the same way as before. Hinges were stamped onto each door before they were attached with some black brads. I then printed off "Home Sweet Home" on a Dymo and inked this with a pale green Promarker before attaching to each of the doors.
Would love to hear what you think, thanks for looking

Friday Sketchers and Sketch Saturday challenges

I have made another two Christmas cards using the sketches from these challenges. The Friday Sketchers card has a lovely image from Whiff of Joy, coloured with Derwent Inktense. I didn't manage to make it in time to enter but thought I'd blog it anyway. The shimmery paper is from my stash and the ribbon is by American Crafts.
The Saturday Sketcher card image is by Paper Artsy.Paper and cardstock from my stash and the horizontal strip has been embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.
Thanks for looking

The Batik Technique

The tag technique from my friend Hels this month is batik. I stamped a Paper Artsy image in clear embossing ink and covered it with clear embossing powder which I heated. Then I covered the tag with Distress inks in Scattered Straw and Broken China. Then using my house iron cos I don't have a craft one, I covered the tag with a paper towel and laid the hot iron over it. This melts the embossing powder and lifts it off the image. You are then left with a negative image on the tag. The boys in the image look a bit spooky with their white eyes I thought- next time I try this technique I will use a different stamps :0)
I stamped the text in Broken China. On the back of the tag I have stamped another image from the same plate and some text in Broken China again and finished the tag with some co-ordinating ribbon. Hope Hels approves of my efforts.(click on the images to get a closer look)

Scrummystashcafe Challenge

This weeks challenge was a love theme. I had to make a Valentine's card for a girl in work. She doesn't do soppy so I had to make sure the card was not too lovey-dovey. She also wanted his name on it, so no, I do not have a fancy man named Keith :o)

The stamps are by Paper Artsy, stamped in Staz-on Blazing Red, the paper from a Papermania black & white pad.
