High Hopes & UKS challenges

The High Hopes challenge this week was a sketch- my favourite kind! I have used papers from Basic Grey Marrakech, ooh I like these. The stamp and sentiment are High Hopes and are coloured with my Derwent Inktense pencils.
I am so bad at managing the weekly challenges for my team on UKS. This is the first layout I have done in ages. You had to use a photo that made you laugh, 5 embellies, some sparkle and a quote by Oscar Wilde. I managed the first three but none of the quotes I read seemed to fit so I won't get maximum points. The paper is Basic Grey, Oh Boy and I have covered all the numbers 8 & 4 with Rhinestone Stickles as these were the boy's ages at the time the photo was taken. That counts for the sparkle although i don't know if you will make it out. I matted the photo on some yellow Bazzill which I punched around with my SU Scalloped Edge Punch. The journalling is again on the yellow Bazzill and I used my new Basic Grey journalling stamps. The 5 embellies are the little Zoomz below the picture.

UKS weekly challenge/ Thomas the tank

This week's challenge was to use 12 or 1 of something, I have used one chipboard heart. Stamping had to feature so the swirls are stamped in all four corners using HOTP clear stamps. You had to use contrasting colours, I've opted for green & brown. I have just checked it again and you were meant to use ransom alphas as well so I failed on that score but not to worry. The photos show my boys meeting their new cousin for the first time.

A friend asked me to make a card for her little boy who is crazy about Thomas the Tank Engine. This was what I came up with and I hope he likes it.

Last week's challenge was to use a sketch, French title, red, white and blue and some bling. I have used photos of my boys first attempt at ice-skating last winter and other Christmas photos of the boys and my little nephew. The papers and embellishments are form a Brenda Pinnick kit and the bling is courtesy of Stickles.

UKS challenge

I have joined a team on UK Scrappers and there is a weekly scrapbook challenge. I thought this would encourage me to get more into this and use up some of the lovely papers I have acquired. The challenge this week was to use black & white, 9 embellishments, (I used more than that), a sketch and some rubber stamping. I forgot to do any stamping but not to worry. The paper and teeny brads are by HOTP. The flowers are from my stash and I put a clear Dew Drop in the centre of each. The chipboard letters and numbers are from a Brenda Pinnick kit that I have. Hope you likey, thanks for stopping by

Yes indeed, another scrapbook page!

You wouldn't believe it but already I have used my Scrapbook Sisters kit again. I have joined the Glitter Gossips team on UKS and the weekly challenge was
Use a Bee Gees song as your title
Use red
Use ribbon
Use bling
Use buttons

I have chosen a photo of my wedding. The River Ness and the castle are in the background. The page is white Bazzill and the DP, chipboard embellies and rub-ons are Heidi Grace. For the bling I added accents with Stickles and stitched around the DP with a Sakura glitter gel pen. The red button is from my stash and the ribbon was in the SS kit. Hope you like it, I am really pleased with how it turned out.
