Baby Keepsake Box

I decided to make this box after seeing one on display at Craft Central. I have used mountboard cut to 10 x10 and my trusty Bind-it-All. The mountboard pieces were covered in various baby themed papers and inked around the edges with a blue inkpad. I then tied them all together with blue gingham. I had punched holes along the top edges by mistake so I threaded fibres through these as if it was my intention all along and then filled the box with toiletries. The new parents were delighted with it even if it was a bit rough around the edges in my view :0)

Spoonful of Sugar/Cute Card Thursday

Two card for two challenges today. Managed to make these last night. The baby card is for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge which was to use a sketch. I have used some baby themed papers form my stash and stamped the image in Ultramarine Staz-on. The words are from the same stamp set but I cannot remember at the moment who makes them. I also used some pale blue twill, cutting a slit in the card to wrap it around the front. Finally I added some glitter to the edge of the basket using stickles and a peel off greeting on some cardstock which was mounted on foam pads.
The other card was for Cute Card Thursday which challenged you to use bright colours. I decided to use the sketch again and a Sarah Kay stamped image. I coloured her with my Derwent Inktense pencils( which I am in love with). The paper is from the DCWV Glitterstack and some cardstock and ribbon from my stash.
Hope you like them and thanks for looking

Friday Sketcher's Challenge

I came across this challenge blog last week while bloghopping. I love working from sketches so I just had to join in. I have used a lovely Sarah Kay stamp and coloured it with Derwent Inktense pencils. This image has been matted onto some lilac Bazzill cardstock. I cut a square blank and matted some paper from The English Paper Company on it, leaving a small border all the way round. The image was them matted on to this. Using my cropadile I put four copper eyelets in place and threaded through a lilac gingham ribbon. The sentiment was placed on two pieces of lilac Bazzill. It's my sister's wedding anniversary tomorrow so this card will be perfect. I'll make sure to check this challenge out again.

Bookmarks galore

I have a stall at the Inverness Flower Festival a week on Saturday. Thought I would try making some bookmarks to sell. I made some with papers and then got inky(my favourite) with my Distress Inks. Going to laminate them before I add eyelets and fibres/ribbons but thought I'd show you them now. Thought the laminate might shine too much to show you later

More Swiss Dots

Yes, I am in love with this Cuttlebug folder so used it on a card I made the other night. The stamped image was from a swap and I coloured it with my new Derwent Inktense pencils that my hubby bought me :0) I really like these I have to say.
I also stamped a Stampin' Up image onto a candle. This is to give away as a prize at my first workshop tomorrow night. I have my make & takes all ready to go. Need to spend the rest of the time studying the product guide I think :-0

First day at school

My gorgeous little baby is all grown up. He started school today. I was one of the few mums not in tears but it was emotional. Couldn't wait to give him a big hug when he came out this afternoon.

No, not a challenge this time

I just fancied using some stamped images that I got in a swap ages ago. Therefore I have no idea where this image is from but I love it. I have coloured it in with watercolour pencils, torn around the edges and inked them with pale pink ink.. The pink Bazzill cardstock has been embossed with my wonderful, fantastic, brill new Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder(used in my Big Shot I may add). Can you tell I like it???? You may be seeing this on quite a lot of my cards until the novelty wears off! The gorgeous paper is from the Glitterstack from DCWV. A little mat for the greeting has had pink ink run around the edges as for the image and has been mounted on foam pads. The finishing touch were some fab flowers from Petaloo. I used a teeny black brad in the centre.Think I might need to acquire this stamp so if anyone can tell me where it is from I would be most grateful :0)

MTTC challenge

This week the challenge was cats. I took the opportunity to use one of my new stamps from Whiff of Joy which has just launched. This is the winter collection of Charlotte & Charlie and they are all gorgeous. I have coloured the image in with watercolour pencils and cut it out. I covered a square blank with some lovely speckled cardstock that I got in a QVC kit ages ago. The image was then matted onto white cardstock and placed on the card. I then stamped the Happy Birthday greeting in red ink and edged the mat with ink too before mounting it on foam pads. If you want to see these fab stamps just look Here. Katharina has got some fab illustrators on board and her DT produce stunning work.

My first stamped candle

I have seen a few of my blogging friends try this technique so decided to give it a go. I have used a cheapo candle from Poundstretchers and my Penelope stamps from Sugar Nellie. I coloured her in with pencils. These are I have now decided far too pale for this project so I will in future use deeper colours. However, it's not bad for a first attempt I thought :0)
Must buy some more candles for the weekend as my hubby just bought me some Derwent Inktense pencils today. Would be rude not to try them out

August Scrapbook challenge

This month's challenge on Craft Swap is "Holidays". You had to use blue as your main colour, one picture and some flowers. A challenge even I could cope with this month Lesley, thanks. I have used my Brenda Pinnick kit for the paper and embellishments.I used some flower shaped eyelets on the photo which I threaded ribbon from the kit through. The paper was a sort of blue-green, hope it's blue enough Lesley

In My Pocket

I have missed the last few weeks of this challenge so apologies to Hels. Thought I had better join in this week as the theme was "Butterflies" and I love them. I have used Rustic Gems papers to cover the envelope. I tore around the edges of the paper to go on the flap and inked around the edges with green chalk ink. I then stamped two butterflies in deep green ink and used Stickles to add sparkle to their dots and bodies. Both butterflies are hidden by the flap when closed. I stamped the bird in the same colour ink at the bottom of the envelope. For the front of the flap I stamped a flower onto some Rustic Gems paper, stuck it to some card and cut it out. I have placed a little heart gem in the flower centre. All of the stamps are from Hels own range of stamps, Stitchels, which can be found at The Artistic Stamper. I haven't stamped a sentiment yet as I haven't decided who to send this to.

Scrummy Stash Cafe challenge

Haven't managed many challenges this week but I hope to get some done over the next week or so. Th challenge from SSC this week was to have bling/sparkle on your project. I have used paper from DCWV Glitterstack and placed it on a square blank, leaving a small border. I took some lilac Bazzill CS and embossed it using my new Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder- I think I might be in love with this!!!!
The stamped images were ones I got in an image swap a while ago. I coloured them with pencils and blending solution and stuck a bit of bling in the centre of the flower. The bumble bee's wings were also filled in with Stickles for extra sparkle.

I love Sugar Nellie

I adore the Sugar Nellie stamps and got another couple of them earlier this week. This image is called Pen Pal. She has been stamped in black Staz-on and coloured in with pencils and Zest-it blending solution. The paper is from the Glitter Stack from DCWV which has so many scrummy papers in it and the card stock is from my stach. I then inked around the edges of the card, added some of my new coloured beads(from my Secret Sister parcel), and a couple of Primas with brads in the centres.

Stampin' Up a storm

I have had a very happy time tonight playing with more of my demonstrator kit so I thought I'd share the samples I made with you. I adore the stamped images and all colouring has been done with Stampin' Up's Blending Pastels, which I now love. I am also addicted to the stamp cleaner and Stampin' Scrub. It makes cleaning your stamps soooo easy!!!! Wish it did the same for cleaning the house....well, I can dream can't I.
I hope you like them and thanks for stopping by
